Paul Verhoeven
born: 18th july 1938
One of the directors I am influenced by is Paul Verhoeven because of the sci fi movies Robocop and Total Recall he has created. It was rather interesting because it was based on the future of technology and its effects upon the police. His films also tend to have alot of action and violence, which maybe because of the war documentaries he has made. He also uses alot of special effects, which also links to our film that needs special effects.
Paul Greengrass
Born: August 13, 1955
This is the second director I am influenced by, he has made films Captain Philips, The borne supremacy and The borne ultimatum. The way that this influences our film is the way how he shows their ways of survival and characters individual journeys and their encounters. He is also great at making their journey action packed and full of suspense.
His trademarks are to use handheld cameras this may not be very linked with our film, but we do have a couple of scenes where we do use first person experiencing utopia. He also uses real life events, but we will not be using a real life event.
